“i was scared,” he replies after a moment, hesitantly dancing with the alcohol on his tongue, “of losing myself.”
she scoffs, her angelic voice on the verge of breaking. “so when i told you i loved you, it meant nothing to you?”
“oh no,” he says, his exhaustion doing all the talking, “it meant the world to me, so i left. i started feeling, and when i feel it always ends with pain.”
